From the 15th to the 17th, He Wei, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Chairman of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, and President of the Red Cross Society of China, led a research team to Hunan for investigations focusing on themes such as “developing new types of productive forces according to local conditions and promoting the rapid rise of the central region” and the Red Cross work. Shen Xiaoming, Secretary of Hunan Provincial Party Committee, paid a courtesy call.
The research team conducted field investigations at sites including the Huanghua Park of Lens Technology, SANY Intelligent Heavy Truck Industrial Park, IntelliMicro Medical Co., Ltd., and Yuan Longping Agricultural High-Tech Co., Ltd., holding discussions to hear reports from the Hunan provincial government and relevant units, as well as opinions and suggestions from representatives of research institutions and enterprises.
He Wei pointed out that promoting the accelerated rise of the central region is a major strategic decision made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China based on the overall modernization construction of the country. There is a need to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping, comprehensively implement the important deployment of the Central Committee regarding the accelerated rise of the central region, and ensuring the implementation of various objectives and tasks. Hunan should continue to exert efforts in the construction of the “three highlands”, accelerate the integrated development of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation while developing new types of productive forces according to local conditions to better promote the artificial intelligence to empower the advanced manufacturing industry. To actively cultivate and make forward-looking layout of new materials, new energy, bio-manufacturing and other strategic emerging industries and future industries, and firmly driving the accelerated rise of central region from a higher starting point.
During the investigation in Hunan, the research team visited the Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, Taohuajing Community in Wangcheng District of Changsha, and Hunan Labor and Personnel Vocational College to investigate the Red Cross work.
He Wei noted that the Red Cross movement in Hunan has a long history with solid working foundation and distinct characteristics. It is important to earnestly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important letter, always adhere to the overall leadership of the Party, focus on the main responsibilities and tasks of “three rescues and three donations”, and proactively serve both international and domestic overall situations. Based on the actual conditions of Hunan, to strengthen characteristic work such as water rescue, enhance humanitarian service capabilities, and promote the high-quality development of the Red Cross cause with Chinese characteristics.
The research team also received a report on the thematic education progress of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party on “learning regulations, strengthening work style, and establishing image”.
During the visit, Shen Xiaoming expressed gratitude for the longstanding concern and support of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party and the Red Cross Society of China for the work of Hunan. He stated that Hunan is earnestly implementing the decision-making and deployment of the Central Committee and the important speeches and instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping concerning the work in Hunan, continuously and firmly promoting the “three highlands” through the rolling implementation of landmark projects, preventing and mitigating risks in key areas, and solidly advancing high-quality development. He hoped that the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party and the Red Cross Society of China would continue to care for and support Hunan’s development, and assist Hunan to demonstrate new responsibilities in advancing the rise of the central region.
