2026/09/16 12

From September 11 to 14, the 2026 Pujiang Innovation Forum (19th Edition), co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, was held at the Zhangjiang Science Hall in Shanghai. Under the theme “Sharing Innovation, Co-shaping the Future: The Mission of the Global Science and Technology Community Against the Background of a New Round of Scientific Technological Revolution”, the forum brought together representatives from the scientific, industrial, and investment communities across 60 countries and regions, as well as more than 20 international organizations.

Ramaphosa, President of South Africa, the guest-of-honor country, sent a congratulatory letter to the forum. Chen Jining, Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Yin Hejun, Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology, and Blade Nzimande, Minister of Department of Science and Innovation of South Africa, delivered keynote speeches. Shen Xiaoming, Secretary of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee, the guest-of-honor province, delivered a speech, while Zhu Zhongming, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Acting Mayor, presided over the opening ceremony. Leading scientists from China and abroad engaged in in-depth dialogue on topics such as basic research, future industries, and global science and technology governance.

This marked Hunan’s first participation in this international science and technology event as the guest-of-honor province. As a typical representative of Hunan’s medical technology innovation, IntelliMicro, at the special invitation of the Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, showcased its independently developed IMIE Intelligent Retina at the “Hunan Pavilion” exhibition area. The “Hunan Pavilion” showcased scientific and technological innovations across 12 fields, including brain-computer interface (BCI), quantum technology, and artificial intelligence. As a representative achievement in the field of BCI visual reconstruction, the IMIE Intelligent Retina was exhibited alongside numerous other cutting-edge technologies, attracting significant attention from attendees and visitors.

Currently, a new round of scientific and technological revolution is profoundly transforming the way people live and work. As a cutting-edge interdisciplinary field that integrates neuroscience, microelectronics, and artificial intelligence, BCI has become a key battleground in global science and technology competition. Faced with the global medical challenge of visual reconstruction, IntelliMicro is transforming “brain-computer integration” from a scientific concept into practical technology that benefits people with visual impairments, perfectly aligning with the forum’s vision of “Co-shaping the Future”.

True technological innovation is not merely about breakthroughs in technical specifications; it is about harnessing global wisdom through open collaboration and addressing human health challenges through collaborative innovation. Supported by new-quality productive forces, IntelliMicro will make cutting-edge technologies accessible to the public and contribute even more to building a global science and technology community.
